Learning Outcomes:
Identify and label the axes, origin, and quadrants of the coordinate plane.
Graph ordered pairs on a coordinate plane.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane.
Determine the length of a side of polygon by using the coordinates.
Identify regular polygons.
Draw lines of symmetry to divide regular polygons into two congruent parts.
Determine the congruence of segments, angles, and polygons.
​Determine whether polygons are congruent or non-congruent.

A two-dimensional surface by two intersecting and perpendicular number lines on which points are plotted and located by their x and y coordinates.
Origin
ordered pair
The point on the coordinate plane that is (0,0) or the middle of the grid.
A pair of numbers used to locate a point on a coordinate plane is called an ordered pair. An ordered pair is written in the form (x, y) where x is the x-coordinate and y is the y-coordinate.
axis
Quadrant
The lines that make up the quadrants of the coordinate plane
​the x-axis is the horizontal line and y-axis is the vertical line
four areas that are created by the x and y axis.  Each quadrant is named I, II, III, IV
Vertical
Horizontal
up and down.  The y-axis

Segments
line parts. Segments are drawn with dots at each end

Closed shapes that have more than 3 lines.

Shapes or lines that are exact, same size and same shape.
Shapes that are not EXACTLY the same, not the same size or shape
Symmetrical
A shape that is exactly the same as if divided by a mirror
