Virginia's Natural Resources:
Forests, trees, plants,  farm land, ocean animals, soil, rocks, minerals, coal, air/water, wild life.  

Human Resources

Things made by people out of materials that began as natural resources
Man made resources from Virginia:
From trees: houses and paper
From rocks/sand: glass, roads, roofing materials
Farm land: apple cider, Tobacco products, peanut butter, cotton cloth
meat and veggies

Watershed Review

   A watershed is an area over which surface water (and the materials it carries) flows to a single collection lace.  

There are 14 watersheds in Virginia; 9 of them are major ones.

​1.    The Chesapeake Bay watershed covers half (50%) of Virginia’s land area.
2.    The other two major watershed systems are the Gulf of Mexico and the North Carolina Sounds.

A physical adaption is some type of structural modification made to a part of the body.
Examples:

​Behavioral Adaptation

A Behavioral Adaptation is something an animal does - how it acts - usually in response to some type of external stimulus.
Examples of some Behavioral Adaptions:
  • What an animal is able to eat
  • How an animal moves
  • How an animal may protect itself
